Location: HealthPark Medical Center - 9981 So HealthPark Circle Fort Myers FL 33908Department: LPG Cardiothoracic Surgery
Work Type: Full Time - On Site
Shift: Shift 1/8:00:00AM to 4:30:00AM
Minimum to Midpoint Pay Rate:$30.27 - $40.86 / hour
Summary
The Shipley Cardiothoracic Center, located in HealthPark Medical Center, is seeking an experienced RN to join their triage team. Three years of RN experience is required for this position and cardiology experience is preferred.
What will this RN do?
- Coordinate and manage patient referrals for the Cardiothoracic Surgery Center.
- Triage and respond to all patient carerelated calls, including preoperative cardiac surgery inquiries.
- Conduct post-discharge follow-up calls to assess patient status, identify symptoms or concerns, and facilitate appropriate clinical intervention.
- Evaluate and prioritize patient symptoms, ensuring timely communication with providers and coordination of care.
- Provide patient education and support throughout the preoperative and postoperative cardiac surgery continuum.
Completes a detailed clinical assessment via telephone to identify the urgency and nature of the patients condition and coordinates the appropriate disposition to receive healthcare. Responsible for utilizing the nursing process and Evidence-Based decision support tools. Makes complex decisions based on nursing assessment, effective listening, critical thinking, advanced assessment and communication skills are essential. In addition to patient triage, the RN will facilitate other care delivery and self-care advice as the situation warrants.

Additional Requirements
Graduate of an accredited nursing program. BSN preferred.
Experience Requirements
Additional Requirements
3 years nursing experience in emergency medicine, medical surgical, case management, ICU, urgent care, Outpatient clinics, ambulatory care sites, or physician office experience required. Formal or informal telephone nursing preferred.
