Summary

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) - a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval - award amount (up to $200 -000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application.Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.

Duties

• The Pain Management Nurse Practitioner (APRN) is a member of the Anesthesia Service who works under the direction of the APS Section Chief
• The APRN collaborates with members of the Acute Pain Service (APS) team to evaluate - manage - and support patients with acute and acute on-chronic pain conditions
• Duties for the position may include but are not limited to: Independently manages a panel of patients with acute and chronic health conditions - with an emphasis on health promotion and disease prevention using evidence-based practice
• Develops and implements individualized care plans to achieve optimal population health and disease management
• Demonstrates leadership and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team
• Orders and interprets laboratory tests - diagnostic studies - and other relevant evaluations
• Prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions
• Initiates referrals and provides consultative services to specialty providers as needed
• Providing outpatient management of postoperative pain medications - including phone calls and clinic visits
• Working closely with APS and CPS team members
